Ginny Porowski

RN, MA, LCMHC

Ginny Porowski is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and Registered Nurse with more than 30 years of experience helping individuals of all ages move toward healing, clarity, and lasting growth. Her nursing background gives her a rare, whole-person perspective: she understands how the mind, body, and spirit are deeply connected, and she draws on that understanding to care for the entire person rather than a single symptom.

Ginny earned her BSN from Emory University and her MA in Counseling from Liberty University, blending rigorous clinical training with a warm, hopeful presence. She works with clients of every age and stage of life, walking alongside them through relationships, grief and loss, life transitions, anxiety, and depression. She also offers career and life coaching and holistic wellness planning for those seeking direction and renewal.

Ginny is currently accepting new clients for both counseling and coaching, in person in Raleigh and by secure telehealth across North Carolina.

Dr. James "Jim" Porowski is a licensed psychologist who holds a doctorate (PsyD) from George Fox University and brings more than 30 years of counseling experience to his work. For 25 years he served on the faculty at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he taught, mentored, and shaped the next generation of caregivers — an experience that continues to inform his thoughtful, integrative approach to mental wellness.

Jim is the author of With All My Mind: God's Design for Mental Wellness and Strength for the Journey, books that reflect his conviction that emotional and spiritual health belong together. He specializes in helping men navigate burnout, depression, and anxiety, offering steady understanding and compassion to those carrying heavy loads in quiet. His faith-friendly perspective is always available to clients who want it, and never imposed on those who do not.

Please note: Dr. Porowski is not currently accepting new individual clients. If you would like to begin counseling, Ginny is welcoming new clients and would be glad to connect with you.

Our philosophy

At Family Life Resources, we believe healing happens in the context of a warm, trusting relationship. Our care is compassionate first and clinical always — we listen closely, move at your pace, and meet you with respect rather than judgment. We draw on evidence-based approaches that have helped people through anxiety, depression, grief, and life's hardest transitions, while remaining attentive to the unique story you bring.

We are Christian counselors, and faith-based support is genuinely available to those who want it — woven gently into the work when it is meaningful to you, and set aside when it is not. People of all backgrounds and beliefs are warmly welcome here. Above all, we practice whole-person care: emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness are not separate compartments but parts of one life, and we honor that connection in everything we do.
