Zebulon sits at the eastern edge of Wake County with a small-town feel all its own — the Friday-night lights, the familiar faces along Arendell Avenue, the easy stretch of farmland that begins where the subdivisions end. It's a good place to raise a family, but distance from Raleigh's medical and counseling offices can make finding the right kind of support feel like one more errand you don't have time for. At Family Life Resources, we've built our care around that reality, and for most folks in and around Zebulon the answer is wonderfully simple: you don't have to make the drive at all.
Our standout option for eastern-Wake towns is secure video telehealth. Instead of carving 90 minutes out of your day to get into the city and back, you log on from your kitchen table, your parked truck on a lunch break, or a quiet bedroom after the kids are down. The session is private, encrypted, and just as personal as sitting across a room — you meet the same counselor every week and build the same steady relationship. For people in 27597 juggling work, school pickups, and a long commute already, skipping the drive entirely is the convenience that makes counseling actually doable. Telehealth is available anywhere in North Carolina, so a move, a college student away at school, or a spouse traveling for work never has to interrupt the care.
If you'd rather meet face-to-face, you're always welcome at our North Raleigh office at 8218 Creedmoor Road. From Zebulon it's roughly a 30–40 minute drive straight in along US-64, with free parking right at the door. Plenty of clients do a blend — telehealth most weeks, an in-person visit now and then — and we're glad to serve neighbors across the wider area, including Wendell, the communities near Wakefield, Little River, and the Five County area out toward the fairgrounds.
Care is led by Ginny Porowski, RN, MA, LCMHC, who is accepting new clients and brings more than thirty years and a holistic, whole-person approach. Zebulon-area clients reach out for all kinds of reasons, and each has its own page on our site:
- Marriage & couples counseling — find your way back to each other and break the cycles that keep repeating.
- Anxiety counseling — calm the worry that won't switch off and get your evenings back.
- Depression therapy — warm, practical help to lift the weight and feel like yourself again.
- Grief & loss counseling — unhurried space to carry a loss that words can't quite hold.
- Christian counseling — faith woven in only as much as you'd like, always your choice.
Getting started is easy and pressure-free. Every new client begins with a free 10-minute phone consultation — a chance to share what's going on and decide whether it's a good fit before you commit to anything. Regular sessions are $160 for 50 minutes ($200 for the 65-minute initial). We're a private-pay practice, which keeps your care confidential and flexible; superbills are available for out-of-network reimbursement, and we accept HSA and FSA cards.
For those who want it, Christian, faith-friendly support is part of the work, offered gently and only as you'd like — and everyone, of every background and belief, is welcomed with the same care. Whether you've farmed near Zebulon for generations or just settled into a new neighborhood off NC-96, you don't have to sort hard things out alone. Reach out, and we'll meet you right where you are — usually right on your own screen.
